The School has been serving the community for over 60 years offering high quality education of not only the German language, but also the rich history and traditions of the German culture.
The German Language School Cleveland teaches the German language to children and adults in a cultural setting within a supportive classroom environment. Our curriculum, textbooks, and methods are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Assessments, formal and informal, are a regular part of classes. We offer National German High School Exams (sponsored by the AATG), levels 1, 2, 3, and 4, as well as the German Language Diploma (Deutsches Sprachdiplom), levels DSDI and DSDII sponsored by the ZfA (Central Agency for Schools Abroad). The Internationale Vergleichsarbeit A1 and A2 of the ZfA can also be taken at our School.
Our teachers participate in annual continued education classes. The German Language School Cleveland is a longtime member of the blanket organization for private German language schools in the USA, the GLSC.
